Quick viewer

Quick viewer is an internal built viewer that can let you quickly view tens types of files' content without open any other program.
Quick viewer is only valid on the search file result tab.
To activate/deactivate quick viewer, click menu 'Operations', then click 'Quick viewer', or press key Ctrl + Q.

Whenever you select any file in the file list, the file content will be displayed in the quick viewer. If the viewer can't recognize the file type or any error occurred, some corresponding message will be displayed in the viewer.

There are seven buttons on the title bar:
  • View previous file
  • View next file
  • Slide show
  • Show more operations on certain file types. A pop up menu will show after you click this button.
  • View in full screen
  • Maximize the window
  • Close the window
In the viewer, press PageUp and PageDown to view previous or next file. If those two keys can't work, try Ctrl + [ for previous file and Ctrl + ] for next file. For pictures, you can also scroll the mouse wheel to view previous or next file. If these shortcuts still can't work (they can't work in PDF viewer with Acrobat Reader 6.0 installed during our test), click the left and right arrow button on the tool bar.

The file types list that are supported by FileCake,
Plain text Example, all .txt files, a large number of program language source code like C++, Perl, etc.
You can set the font size by click the tools button and select in the pop up menu.
HTML document Example, all .html, .htm files.
Graphics pictures FileCake supports jpeg, gif, png, bitmap, icon, tiff, pcx and psd files.
The first three types are widely used in the internet and bitmap is the standard Windows graphics file format.
You can scale, rotate, or flip the pictures by click the tools button and select in the pop up menu.
Zoom more Scale the image to a larger size
Zoom Less Scale the image to a smaller size
Full Size Show the image in its original. This equals to scale to 100%.
Fit Window Automatically scale the image to fit the window.
This is a best option when you're browsing many pictures.
Rotate Counterclockwise Rotate the image counterclockwise by 90 degree
Rotate 180 Rotate the image up-side-down by 180 degree
Rotate Clockwise Rotate the image clockwise by 90 degree
Flip Horizontally Flip the image horizontally
Flip Vertically Flip the image vertically
Set Wallpaper Set current picture as the desktop wallpaper.
Center: Place the picture in the center of the desktop.
Tile: Repeat the picture over the entire desktop.
Stretch: Stetch the picture to cover the entire desktop. This may cause the picture distort.
Fit to Screen: If the picture is larger than the desktop, FileCake will scale down it first. Then the picture will be placed in the center of the desktop. This is the easiest way to make a beautiful wallpaper.
Convert Convert the image to a bitmap or jpeg file. The file type depends on the file extension you selected in the Save dialog box.
The new image file is as same as what you see on the screen, with the same scale ration, rotation, or flip.
This is a powerful tool to transform an image.
Audio files Example, mp3, midi, wav, etc.
Video files Example, avi, mpeg, wmv, etc.
Audio and video support module uses Windows Media Player component, so FileCake can play as many multimedia files as the Media Player installed on your system.
You can set the video size by click the tools button and select in the pop up menu.
Screen saver Play your screen savers in a small window, funny and cool.
OLE Objects Embed and view OLE Objects. This type includes all MS Office documents, and you can customize it by yourself.
PDF document Example, all .pdf files. This requires Adobe Acrobat reader installed on your system.
Flash Example, all .swf files. This requires Shockwave Flash player installed on your system.
Compressed archive Include ZIP, RAR, GZIP, TAR, and CAB format. You can see many information of the archive in this viewer.
Executable files Show the executable file version information for exe, dll, and ocx.
Real media Play Real media files, include rm, rmvb, ra, and ram. This requires Real Player or Real One installed in your system.
If you like, you can also set this type to handle mp3, avi, or any other medias.
You can set the video size by click the tools button and select in the pop up menu.

If the file is a shortcut file (.lnk), the viewer will resolve and show the target file instead of showing the shortcut file itself.

Beside above file types, you can also customize the file types by yourself.
