Add an application
1, Select the '>>&gtNew<<<' item in the application list.
2, Set the application file name.
You can browse a file by click or select an active process in the drop down list.
3, Set the key serial.

Press some key that the selected application used to save files, and then click the 'Add' button to add it.
You can add more than one key for any application. Most applications' default key to save file is 'Ctrl + S', however, some application has no such hotkey, for example, notepad in Win98.
For such applications, you should set a serial of keys to simulate the menu actions.
For example, you can add a hotkey 'Alt + F' to simulate opening the 'File' menu, and then add second hotkey 'S' to simulate clicking the 'Save' menu item.
4, Set the interval.
Here you can set the period that how long AutoSave will save the documents.
You can choose the time unit as second or minute, then type a number or select one in the drop down list.
If the interval is 0, then auto saving for the selected application is disabled.
5, Apply the configure.
Press the 'New' or 'Modify' button to finish the configure.

NOTE: You can add only one application to the list in unregistered version.
In register version, you can add unlimited applications.
Click here to see how to register.

However, sometime you may want to export the list in another name.
To export the list, select menu 'File->Export list'.
To import the list, select menu 'File->Import list'.

Advanced options
Click button 'Advanced' on the main window, a dialog called 'Advanced options' will be shown.

Ignore rules:
AutoSave may cause some unexpected result when you're doing some special operations.
To avoid them, check following boxes. Usually you should leave them default (all are checked).
If AutoSave can't auto save under these conditions, it will auto save immediately when the conditions are cleared away.

Usually you'd better leave these options default (checked) unless you know how AutoSave works.

  • Any menu pop up: Don't autosave when any menu is displayed, include the applications' menu, system menu and start menu.
  • Any key is down: Don't autosave when any key is pressed and holding.
  • Any mouse button is down: Don't autosave when any mouse button is clicked and holding.
  • Active window is popup dialog: Don't autosave when any popup dialog is shown. This will prevent AutoSave from 'auto saving' when you do some configure in the applications' config dialog.
If AutoSave can't auto save your edits, try unchecking this option.

Note: For some applications like MS Office that use non-standard user interface, for example, the menu, AutoSave may try to auto save when the menu is popped up even you checked the option "Any menu pop up" or others. This is due to the non-standard interface, not any bug or error.
